And this is relevant to mind of Chinese and Korean people in my reasoning.
Because these three country's governments kept adopting Jukyou as a doctrine to control people.
Please let me explain about Japan as an example of East Asian affairs.
The Japanese don't believe God,you know.
From ancient times, the Japanese had worshipped the departed soul of ancestors instead.
Although it has become a dead letter now...
Jukyou make the worshiping related to state power.
The mechanism is this.
Jukyou impose some concepts on the people.
The concept is called "Chuu Kou Tei"(忠孝悌)
The Chuu means obedience to a monarch whom someone work under.
The Kou means a order to look up to parent.(Especially father.)
The Tei means to respect for senior people.
Jukyou deal with the three concepts as a bundle.
In other words, someone's respecting their parents is regarded as obedience to a monarch in Jukyou.
Also there is a confusion with respecting and obedience.
In Eastern Asia, monarchs didn't have to contract their subordinates.
The confusion is the reason that they could do that.
This is a difference of the Eastern Asian Feudalisms from the Western ones.
This tradition has been handed down as the relationship between Japanese employers and their workers until now.
And about the Tei, this concept force younger people to deal with senior people as their senior brother in spite of that they are complete strangers in fact.
So promotion-by-age system could be accepted by many people in Japan.
And the virtual brothers substitute for their parents to younger people.
As my previous saying, it is the parents regarded as monarch.
Therefore monarch (this is the nation and government for Japanese in recent time),society, companies some people belong to and senior people are same thing for the Japanese people.
Naturally, "society" have different meaning from the Western in Japan.
It is called "Syakai"(社会).
It is the thing which people are subordinate to ,but not to join it.
People never make any rule and laws to get more better society by themselves.
The Japanese people believe some authorities make all rule and laws.
Also the people think they only have to obey them.
Because the people regard the some authorities as their parents.
Japanese people call their government and authorities "okami"(お上).
Almost all the Japanese sometimes complain about okami.
But they never fight against their government seriously.
Because they believe that their government is their parents.
Why do parents have strong power to the Japanese people ?
Because their parents are the successor to the power of the departed soul of their ancestors.
It is not caused by simple love for parents from their children.
In our blog, Clown Jack introduced a movie of Japanese company's training as an induction course for new employees.
The training is formed by the history and the ideology that I explained in this writing.
In the other hand, many Japanese male employees disregard their own family, because they sacrifice themselves for companies which they belong to.
Japanese male employees regard companies as more important families than their own actual families.
They call company "kaisha"(会社), and it is the more essential family for them.
The group had Jukyou as their belief was called "Juka".
Basically Juka headed for working as some government official under some monarch.
So when their belief is applied on the people, the people are forced to behave like government officials.
Before Japan becoming a modern nation, In the Edo era, jukyou is the morals mainly for the Samurai.
Samurai already had not been soldiers in Edo era.
They were government officials.
And the government they worked under was a military dictatorship called "Bakuhu"(幕府).
To begin with, Samurai is the word occured from "saburau"(侍ふ).
"Saburau" means that someone follows the nobility.
After Edo era, the modernization in japan had achieved success to get a style that new government forced all the people to accept the Samurai's morals.
It is called "the Meiji Restoration"(明治維新).
The situation I said is the reason why it is not called "the Meiji Revolution".
The Japanese history have had No revolution.
Setting about revolution aside...
Until the Edo era the people in Japan didn't have awareness that they were some nation.
There was not awareness like "I am the Japanese".
Japan as a nation was made in recent times.
But there was necessity for escaping from being colonized by western powers.
China had been colonized at that time.
Then the new government leaders thought that they had to change their old feudal country to a modern nation quickly.
The result is the Meiji era.
"Shougun" was the top of Samurais in bakuhu.
All samurais ware his retainers in Edo era.
Jukyou sported the system of Shougun.
In Meiji era, the Shougun system was abolished.
But Jukyou was not abolished.
It was used for "Tennou"(天皇).
Under the Shougun system, Tennou had been left in a low position for long centuries but Tennou is the Emperor of Japan.
Not just samurai, but also all the Japanese people was forced to accept Jukyou.
Until then, the Japanese people were ordered to obey samurais as "okami".
The meiji government said the people "We are going to make your class and samurai equal. So you must obey Tennnou directly from now on".
Also the meiji government said that Tennnou was the living god and he was the successor to the power of the departed soul of all ancestors in Japan.
The meiji government began to say all the Japanese people have the identical ancestors.
The Japanese agreed the proposal and the opinion of the government.
This is a cult religion led by a government.
Tennou was the tool to make a nation called "the Japanese".
In the other hand, original ancestors that Japanese worshiped was put in a artificial myth that Meiji government prepared for the new nation.
The myth is called "Shinto".
There were many worshiping for original ancestors which could not be putted in Shinto.
They were abandoned forcibly by the government.
The Japanese people cooperate with it.
Because they thought only the culture and the things from the Western is good and Japanese traditions were bad.
The new government leaders thought next thing.
"If we lose speed of changing to centralization of administrative power, we fail to get industrialize"
"It is mean that we lose western powers and our country must be colonized."
Then they wanted centralization to get power.
For doing that, they destroyed Japanese traditions which were obstructive to centralize.
The fact of the matter, the destroyed traditions made the people free even under the control of samurai in Edo era.
They were the possibility to let the Japanese people be free by the different way from the Western civil society.
But they were lost from the center stage of history by the modernize in Japan.
However that may be...
For the Japanese, the modernize is only expedient to stack up against western powers.
There is only meaning to get industrialize.
(Tell the truth, Japan has kept the situation until now.)
In this way, the Japanese nationalism was related to worshiping the departed soul of ancestors.
But the ancestors had gotten to be man-made object as Tennou.
Not real ancestors...
This nation Japan as the cult religion rushed into World War II.
After WW II, it was officially announced that Tennou is not living god.
So the people couldn't worship Tennou as their ancestor's soul.
And the USA baned the Japanese people from worshiping their nation Japan.
Therefore Japanese nationalism became hollow.
And the real soul of ancestors of the Japanese people already had been destroyed by the modernize with Tennou system.
The Japanese people lost any target to worship.
But there is one thing left behind.
It is more getting industrialize to win western powers.
Until quite recently, many Japanese have shouted "Catch up with and overtake the USA !".
The people got imagined as if they went to war against the USA.
The war was economic war.
Industrialize and making money have became purpose in itself.
Becoming its own goal...
Japanese companies called "Kaisha"(会社) have became object to worshiped by people instead of old nationalism.
This is similar to changing of the Calvinist toward covetous capitalism at the present days.
In spite of their origin had strict asceticism, action of more profit‐making became purpose in itself.
It is the one of the most ironical fate.
Like that...
The strange modernize wiped out the other virtues in Japan.
So blind faith to kaisya is only left behind.
As the result, the present Japanese people have destroyed the land, the sea and the woods which their ancestors treated with great care.
Now the Japanese don't care old thing and traditions in their daily life.
People saying "I love Kyoto and Kumno!" often live in the place made by smashing the woods which their ancestors had kept maintenance carefully.
Only for the reason that they like new house.
To make matters worse, almost all the new houses have no relationship to tradition in Japan.
I said "It is the one of the most ironical fate" for capitalism occuring from the Calvinism in previous my words.
Another one of the most ironical fate is this example in Japan.
They keep mind as if they were a military police to serve some dictatorship ,despite they never are any government official.
Now you know, the essence of Jukyou have not been lost at all during Japanese industrial and economic development until now.
to be continue...

Do you know Jukyou ? [link]
If you want to get correct knowledge for the Japanese mind, you need to know about Jukyou. And this is relevant to mind of Chinese and Korean people in my reasoning.
