Warning!! -The partial information infringes on you. You will lose the love of anime- by Clown Jack

Ⅰ- The information gap

Do you know the telephone game"Chinese whispers"?
Information is transmitted through people. However, The correctness of information is spoiled whenever through people.
Moreover, information will be warped if there is a vicious human being in people.
Now, Where in the telephone game are you?

I tell you the fact. Foreign anime fan, you are in the tail end of information on anime of Japan.
You have not received exact information. You are receiving bias.

You will like anime culture. but, you can't participate in anime culture. I understand your position.
Because, The Japanese companies are passive to advance into overseas markets.
Therefore, when you enjoy an anime culture, you can't help but depend on an means of injustice, and the partial information.

However, The action sometimes causes danger.
Because, you are exposed to a lot of partial information. The information may bring you pleasure.
I do not say "Stop." However, you become a misfortune if the resistance over information can't build up.
Because, You will misunderstand things If you continue accessing the partial information. and, you often become controlled by the advertising agent. They recommend Anime to force a sale rather than interesting Anime. As a result, only fashion of imitation spreads and you miss favorite Anime.
We tend to regard manga and anime as a pure expression. but, manga and anime has a near relation to an advertisement.

Murdock exists all over the world.
In Japan, the information king is called like this, "Dentsu".

Ⅱ-Danger of the agent information

There are two kinds of troublesome existences which sprinkle the partial information now.
One is the information by an "affiliate blog" which reprinted a part of 2ch. Another is the information by the Japanese depending on a community. These two source of information can't  be trusted. but, many of foreign information sites  get information from them.

Affiliate blog alters the information on 2ch freely, or deletes it, and is making a report. Not only an individual but the workers of a company are in them. Their purpose is an advertising rate. Although there is also a conscientious blogger, they are called "AFII" with irony from 2ch.

Most anime taken up by the blog has loose copyright management, and it is a work with the partial popularity. They recommend not by the fun of a work but by the novelty of a work. How to give the information is very simple, and childish. but, an information blog is useful, and there is much amount of topic, and there are many readers.
Producers are apprehensive about their influence.

Ⅲ-Habit of the Japanese

Japanese people trust and respect a community very much.
Sometimes, It is made much of than individualism. Remark of Otaku is the same too. Manga and anime is used as a means for upkeep relationships with friends. Even if they think some anime is boring in mind, they say that it is interesting. It is for maintaining the peace of a community.

I have the same experience.
Anime of only fashion is short-lived. After ado, only vanity remained in my heart.

There is another reason.
The anime character has been recognized among many people since 2,000. Anime icon is often seen on the internet. but, the all the members do not like an anime. Ostensibly, they do not speak of it.
We have associated with many Otaku on twitter. They often made the remark which makes fun of anime. Even these who publish the doujin magazine have the case of not being interested in anime. Any longer, Doujin is not a hobby but one industry.

Talking together with fans is pleasant. Anime is also means of the expression. However, this situation is faithful to its own desire, and is premised on pure curiosity. You will miss your own feeling, when you continue taking in the partial information. And you are controlled by an advertising agent's intention.

Ⅳ-Value of criticism

However, we can't stop mass consumption of information.
Let's master criticism. Criticism differs from a review. Criticism is the wisdom to analyze things and to search for the whereabouts of our desire.

The impression received from anime can be taken out to language.
It does not need to be sensitive to others' mood.
It's wonderful.
And our active action moves society.

Let's show an example.
At a knowledge of manga, the eyes and nose of manga-character are considered to be a sign.
It is the opinion that aggregate of a sign becomes a manga-character. The argument on an anime character and realism can be ended only by getting to know this theory.
That is, although language is not realism, a scene and feeling can be transmitted.
Characters of manga and anime are the same as it.

You must not be subordinate to information and you must rule to information.
It's value of criticism.
Let's express culture.

  1. Yeah, most of the information you will find is biased, especially from English sites. Japan is faraway, so most people learn about Japan either though anime and through the perspective of westerners, so there is a bit of filtering involved.

What I have is a basket of English sources that I look at, but you still have to be weary of the spin. I'm trying to learn Japanese to hopefully get around it.

  3. Efforts to study Japanese are wonderful. I also study English.
However, it may be difficulty that you get to know true Japanese culture. because the suitable introducer is lacking.
Many of the Japanese are unwilling to know own culture. Intelligentsia is also the same. They despise tradition of Japan, history, and literature. but, those are very interesting. For example, Old Japanese differs even in the walk method from a present-day thing.

I wish, I would like to be a suitable introducer. In spite of anime being loved all over the world, not offering wisdom and information is silly.
